There have been changes to the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) stamp for boaters navigating Connecticut’s inland waters. The updated measures aim to strengthen the fight against the spread of hydrilla and other invasive species. A news release and informational flyer provide an overview of the new stamp, how boaters can help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species, and how the AIS stamp can be purchased by Connecticut residents and non-residents.

2026 Aquatic Invasive Species treatment.
On June 4 2026, 8.15 acres of Hydrilla were treated with granular Sonar H4C as a surface application within the treatment areas. The treatment was applied to the areas of Hydrilla, which included the areas closest to the boat launch area, in the cove directly across the lake, and in the northernmost cove.
A second application was applied on July 10th within the treatment areas, and a third application on August 3rd.
Also on the July 10th visit, a ProcellaCOR treatment totaling 4.5 acres was applied to Milfoil found within these areas. ProcellaCOR was applied with subsurface hoses.
All the applications were applied in a manner that met the specifications of the CT DEEP permit and followed chemical label instructions.
The Pond & Lake Connection (203-885-0184) will conduct an aquatic herbicide application to:
Amos Lake-Preston, CT. The following permitted herbicides may be used: Sonar H4C and ProcellaCOR.
Do not use the water for the following purpose(s) during the time listed below:
Irrigation: 7 Days There are no other water use restrictions!
